The UFC 250 might take place in Florida on May 9, even though all events organized by this promotion have been postponed until further notice. The UFC boss Dana White tried to host UFC 149 on April 18 at the Tachi Palace in Lemoore, California but was forced to give up on that idea after receiving pushback from ESPN and Disney.
Despite that decision, White doesn’t seem discouraged to keep on trying. In fact, it seems to be just the opposite. According to recent rumors coming from the promotion, White is close to clinching a deal for the next event happening in May.
As a reminder, the UFC 250 was supposed to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. However, at the moment, it seems it’s more likely for the event to happen within the US. It is speculated that the UFC 250 might move from Brazil to Florida.
UFC 250 TO TAKE PLACE IN FLORIDA?
Everything about the UFC 250 is still unclear, including its name. Considering that the UFC 149 event ended up canceled, the one that’s supposed to happen on May 9 might take its name. Of course, that’s another big ‘if’ as it’s still uncertain whether the event is going to place and if it does, where.
The location is yet to be determined, but there’s a strong indication that it’s going to be in Florida. The reason is that the state officials have declared MMA an essential business. The decision stipulates that professional sports events, such as those that the UFC organizes, can be facilitated as long as they don’t involve the public.
What this practically means is that if the UFC 250 is going to take place in Florida, no fans would be allowed on the site. If Dana White manages to broker a deal with a venue in Florida, there’s practically nothing stopping the UFC 250 from happening. And if it does happen, it is going to be a star-packed event!
